Russian writer Oksana Vasyakina’s novel “Rana” was at the top of the books in Finland. Vasyakina announced this on her Telegram channel, referring to Riku Toivola, the Finnish translator of the book.
The book was highly appreciated by local critics. Rana is now the most read and most booked book in libraries in Finland. It also ranks first in the list of 10 books chosen by Finnish journalist-critics,” explains the author.
According to the plot of the novel “Wound”, the hero takes his mother’s ashes from the Volgograd region to Siberia, burying them at home next to his grandmother and aunt. She remembers her own childhood, reflects on the death of loved ones, her growth and femininity. Finnish publishing house Otava also released the audiobook “Wound”, voiced by Russian-Finnish actress Alina Tomnikov, in 2023.
