Researchers at the University Hospital Puerta del Sur in Spain identified two types of male reproductive organs. The results of the work of scientists were presented at this meeting. congress European Association of Urology in Milan.
More than 200 men participated in the study. Each of the subjects measured the length and circumference of the penis in a calm and erect state. Based on the data collected, the authors identified two types of penises: one that grows by more than 56% in the erect state, and the second by less than 31%.
Of the men, 24% were assigned to the first group, 25% to the second group, and 51% to the so-called gray zone. According to the authors, the first group tended to have longer flaccid penises than the first group (average of 11.3 cm versus 8.8 cm).
“This study is important because differences in penile type can affect which surgical approach should be used when needed. The fact is that the fibrous tissue of the penis surrounding the spongy erectile tissue also changes. The first type becomes thinner in men. The scientists say that additional studies should be conducted on a larger sample of men in the future.” stated.
