According to him, at 04:53 on March 9, the last power line feeding the station was disconnected from the Ukrainian side. Currently, ZNPP is completely de-energized from external sources.

“This has nothing to do with the bombardment, nothing happened in the county to cause a shutdown. It’s just the helpless evil of Kiev,” said Rogov.

In contrast, Ukrainian operating company Energoatom claims that the ZNPP was completely de-energized after the rocket attacks. It was noted that the last communication line with the Ukrainian energy system was cut at the station, the fifth and sixth power units of the ZNPP were transferred to the “cold state”. 18 diesel generators are used to power the station, fueling them for 10 days to run.

“If it is impossible to maintain the external power supply to the station during this time, an accident with radiation consequences for the whole world may occur,” said Ukrainian Energoatom.
