Scientists from the University of Rhodes reported that two killer whales killed 17 sharks in a two-hour hunt. it has been said about business insider.
Scientists have been tracking the movements of two male killer whales, Port and Starboard, since 2009. They are most commonly seen in Falls Bay, South Africa, where they were first spotted in 2015.
At one time, scientists discovered that killer whales repeatedly dived into a small area for almost two hours and then swam away from shore.
A few days later, they found the remains of 11 dead sevengill sharks on the beach. These fish can reach three meters in length. Scientists reported that killer whales killed a total of 17 or more sharks by eating their stomach contents and internal organs.
As scientists note, this hunt has become the deadliest in this region.
In May 2022, scientists were able to film Starboard killing a great white shark. White shark populations have declined drastically since the killer whale duo were first spotted in the area in 2015.
