According to the agency, police were injured after a protest march Friday evening when a train derailed near the city of Larisa. Protesters set fire to a patrol car in Monastiraki, central Athens.

“As the protesters advanced into the central Syntagma Square, several people jumped out of the crowd and started throwing flares and throwing stones and other objects at the police. Special Forces responded with tear gas,” the publication says.

After protests in Thessaloniki, a group of people set trash cans on fire.
