The European Commission (EC) has developed a plan that provides for an increase in the supply of ammunition to Ukraine and an increase in their production in the EU countries. It has been reported Der Spiegel with a link to the text of the document.
The three-item plan is scheduled to be presented to the ambassadors of EU countries on Thursday, March 2nd.
The first of these provides an increase in the supply of ammunition to Kiev, in particular, 155 mm caliber artillery shells. The second point refers to the immediate purchase of such ammunition through the European Defense Agency in order to make up for its shortcomings in the EU countries.
The publication says that the third paragraph refers to a long-term increase in European ammunition production capacity, taking into account the changing security situation.
Previously, it was known that the Spanish Ministry of Defense. signed an agreement with Nammo Palencia to build up a strategic stockpile of ammunition.
