The reassignment of the military air defense system (AD) to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) will eliminate a number of shortcomings in its work and increase the safety of military flights. Such an opinion in an interview with the newspaper “Vzglyad” expression Joint Air Defense System of the CIS Member States, former Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force Aitech Bizhev. He emphasized that the commander will have a complete battle map and actions will become more fluid.
“The transfer of military air defense to the Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force will allow the creation of a single radar and information field and the integration of all necessary forces and vehicles. Accordingly, all air defense forces in the country will go to the implementation of the determined goals and tasks. Thus, we will overcome the current conflict,” Bizhev said.
He added that the transition to military air defense under the command of the Aerospace Forces will facilitate the work of aviation. According to him, it will be clear how and in what direction the aircraft will be supported.
