Actor Russell Crowe and his girlfriend Britney Theriot were excluded from service at an Australian restaurant because they did not follow the stylish and casual dress code. It has been reported New York Post.
The couple had lunch at the Japanese restaurant Mr. Miyagi was found in Melbourne, but staff refused to allow them entry. According to the player’s manager, Grant Vandenberg, Russell Crowe and a girlfriend came to the restaurant right after they played tennis. Vandenberg stated that his client was wearing “a brand new Ralph Lauren polo shirt.”
The restaurant’s official website describes the establishment as “comfortable yet trendy”. Representatives Mr. Miyagi also warns potential guests that gym clothes and flip-flops are not allowed in the restaurant.
“We treat all guests equally. And it doesn’t matter who you are – Russell Crowe or an ordinary person. We have a dress code we follow and it’s the same for everyone. Personally, I would never try to go to a good restaurant if I wore shorts and flip-flops,” Christian Klein, the owner of the business, told reporters.
Klein explained that the staff who refused Crowe’s service did not recognize the player, adding that it was “a very embarrassing situation for everyone”.
After the incident, a playful post appeared on the restaurant’s official Instagram account (the owner of Meta company was considered extremist and banned in Russia), a “new sign” for the establishment: “Wear it in style if you’re not Russell Crowe, it’s chic and casual, and then whatever you wear.”
It reads below, “Dear Russell, it looks like we took a wrong step on your last visit. After much deliberation, we’ve made permanent changes to our dress code. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.”
