More than a billion people are at risk of contracting cholera, and three countries have reported new outbreaks of the disease this week. It has been reported TASS With reference to Philippe Barbosa, WHO Team Leader for Cholera and Epidemic Diarrhea.

“We estimate that more than a billion people in 43 countries are at direct risk of contracting cholera,” added Barboz.

Barboz also noted that 50% more countries are facing cholera epidemics in 2022 than in 2021.
