Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry, Nikolai Popescu, considered the Russian Foreign Ministry’s warning about the threat to Pridnestrovie provocative and called on Moscow to withdraw the army. This was reported on the politician’s page on the social network.
“We find today’s statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation provocative and reaffirm the need for an unconditional and transparent withdrawal of the Russian army,” Popescu’s post reads.
It also affirmed Chisinau’s commitment to “only a peaceful way of solving the Transnistria problem”.
At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova denied the information of the Ministry of Defense of Russia about the upcoming military provocation against Pridnestrovie.
“The security situation in the region is stable,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Previously at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned NATO and Ukraine from provocations in Transnistria. The diplomatic department noted that they are in favor of solving all kinds of problems through political and diplomatic means.
