Residential studios of less than 9 square meters on sale in Moscow are not suitable for a full-fledged stay. Psychologist Larisa Ovcharenko expressed this opinion in a conversation with socialbites.ca. Similar propositions for living in Japan, a country with very high levels of depressive disorders, are popular, she explained.

“Living in such small spaces is very difficult because we all need personal space. This is a “capsule” story that comes to us from Japanese traditions. The Japanese prefer this type of housing for various reasons. But we remember that Japan is a country that suffers from suicides, one of the highest rates of depressive disorders. People struggling at the state level have the highest loneliness. This is particularly associated with this way of life. Here we see the same “capsule” enclosure, which in no way contributes to the full development of personality and well-being. It is difficult for an adult in such conditions, and I am afraid to even imagine what could happen to a child, ”said Ovcharenko.

According to the psychologist, the development of claustrophobia in such life conditions does not threaten everyone. However, micro studio residents are likely to develop chronic fatigue.

“If a person is emotionally healthy and stable, it is unlikely that claustrophobia will develop suddenly, even in these circumstances. But there will be more fatigue, less opportunity to recover emotionally. We understand that some people have a very strong motivation to live in Moscow and this area is more suitable for financial reasons. For a while this motivation will be quite resourceful and one will enjoy being at 8 meters but in Moscow. But we will certainly experience chronic fatigue, fatigue and rapid psycho-emotional burnout, which will leave a negative mark on the general well-being, ”Ovcharenko concluded.

Earlier, Izvestia, citing Metrium analysts reportedThat the smallest apartment for sale in Moscow is a “micro studio” in a residential complex in the Southern Administrative District, not far from the Tulskaya metro station. The area of such a studio is 8.8 square meters. m. and its cost is 4.3 million rubles.

As the newspaper said Metro, The apartment has no hallway and bedrooms, but there is a view from the window to a quiet courtyard. Housing is provided as a non-residential building and does not provide the opportunity to obtain a residence permit and connect the child to a kindergarten or school. At the same time, utilities will cost the tenant almost twice as much as an ordinary apartment.
