RBC: Ukraine will start sending subpoenas via Viber messenger

From February 15, mobilization calls and summons will be sent via the Viber messenger. Reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the State Judicial Administration.

“In addition to the already traditional SMS messages, the ability to send subpoenas and calls using the Viber messenger has been implemented,” the management said.

Information on this is provided in the updated Procedure for sending subpoenas, notices and summons to hearing attendees in electronic form, approved by resolution 28 of January 23, 2023.

The material says that the electronic forensic document management system will send a summons via the messenger, and if the notification cannot be sent, the summons will come as an SMS.

The court administration noted that the innovation is designed to save budget funds. They also said that within the first 12 hours, 60% of the summons were delivered and more than 5,000 hryvnia were recovered.
