Violation of the production technology of the Russian divisions of the International Space Station (ISS) is the possible cause of the depressurization of the Progress MS-21 cargo spacecraft. The newspaper writes about it “News”He cites a source in Roscosmos.
“I think we are talking about some kind of deviation from technology – a slightly different material, a slightly different production conditions, a different operator. Structurally, this unit (heat control system) has not changed and has served well for many years, so it is unlikely that the problem is in its scheme ” said the source.
According to him, the incident with the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft occurred after the launch of the Progress MS-21 on the ISS – “it turns out that the potential error can no longer be corrected.”
As one of the representatives of the rocket and space industry told the publication, in his opinion, there are some problems with the design of the spacecraft, and in particular with the thermal control system assembled by RSC Energia specialists.
Yuri Borisov, ex-president of Roscosmos knowledgeablethat the experts are currently taking all necessary measures to allow them to go to the location of the damage on the Progress MS-21 and determine the cause. According to him, the option of damaging the skin from the outside, that is, by a meteorite or space debris, is being considered.
