Yaroslavl residents complain about the state and functioning of city public transport. This time, residents of the Zavolzhsky and Dzerzhinsky districts faced problems due to an insufficient number of buses during rush hour.
In Bragino, the city’s most densely populated area, two people struggled for space on transport, according to local communities on social networks. While one of the girls was trying to hold the foot of the van, another girl who was already in the cabin started pushing her towards the street.
Residents of the city speak of the lack of space in public transport next to the remote areas of the city. There are also constant problems with transportation in the Zavolzhsky district, which is located on the right bank of the Volga. Often, passengers standing at stops help those who want to get on minibuses, literally pushing them in.
There are usually problems in the evenings on the weekends on the routes departing from the center. If a passenger misses a transport on their route due to a collision, it becomes even more difficult to get on the next minibus.
Residents fear the situation will worsen after the second phase of local transport reform. The region plans to reduce the release of multi-seater cars on routes, close some routes and completely stop the use of “accordion” buses.
Tatyana Cheremnykh, head of the transport department of the Yaroslavl region, assures that due to the improvement in the maneuverability of vehicles put into service, the problems of residents, on the contrary, will disappear.
