Local police officers from Lugo arrested a city resident who is alleged to be the perpetrator in a domestic violence case. The arrest followed an incident that reportedly occurred after a confrontation with his 14-year-old daughter during a family dispute.

Authorities say the events happened on Sunday night after a call was received from a residence in the southern part of the city reporting a heated quarrel within a family that involved a minor.

Officers went to the home and spoke with a woman who identified herself as the girl’s mother. She described a tense family moment during which the teenager allegedly demanded to go outside and became angry, leading to an impulsive act of striking him with physical force in the effort to discipline him as the conflict escalated.

During the visit, one of the responders entered a room and found the young girl crying while appearing visibly distressed. She explained that she had asked her mother for dinner and attempted to order food through a delivery app because there was no meal prepared at home. The app issue was noted as part of the context for the tension that followed.

The child told investigators that she had communicated her intent to go out to find something to eat after the dinner app failed to work. At that moment, the argument intensified and the mother reportedly struck the girl on the back with a broom, a detail that emerged during talks with the family and subsequent assessments.

According to the girl, the violence from her mother had been a recurring pattern, and there were already existing records related to juvenile matters that had been opened by the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office. The authorities treated the allegations as a case of domestic violence, given the seriousness of the allegations and the history that had been cited by the family and noted in official files.

In response to the gravity and ongoing nature of the situation, an ambulance was summoned to the residence to assess the girl at HULA. Based on the seriousness and repeated nature of the events, officials moved to arrest the mother on suspicion of domestic violence in line with applicable laws and procedures.
