Roskosmos said the design council recommended to lengthen Operation of the Russian part of the ISS until 2028.
The company noted that the decision will be considered at the scientific and technical council meeting of Roskosmos, based on the results of which the State Agency will prepare an appropriate appeal to the government.
Former Roskosmos and ISS partners accepted measures designed to ensure the safety of the crew of the malfunctioning Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft in the event of an emergency at the station. This was reported on the state agency’s Telegram channel.
As noted on Roscosmos, the International Space Station and its systems are operating normally, but in the event of an accident, the crew will need an emergency evacuation to Earth prior to the arrival of the Soyuz MS-23.
It has been noted that if an emergency evacuation is required, Rubio will return to the planet in Crew Dragon.
The state company stated that Russian cosmonauts would later return to Earth with a malfunctioning cooling system on their Soyuz MS-22.
