A police routing was issued to all patrol units, and the suspect was later found in the Leninsky district on Khilokskaya Street around 9 a.m. the next day. He apparently planned to flee abroad. Neighbors and classmates describe Nastya as kind and reserved, someone who did not allow herself to be disrespected, yet who faced struggles with alcohol and its consequences.
One classmate noted that Nastya had just finished ninth grade. The girl reportedly faced persistent pressure from Roman, who was often seen around her, messaging affectionate words and insisting on closeness. Local residents recalled that he appeared to be present everywhere, offering compliments and expressing a readiness to do anything for her, even as many grew tired of his attention. Nastya began to distance herself from the persistent admirer, but the situation escalated dramatically.
The local children’s ombudsman, Nadezhda Boltenko, indicated that the family would receive all necessary support. The Mash Siberia Telegram channel reported prior incidents involving Roman, suggesting a history of attacks against young women. According to the channel, there was an earlier encounter with a minor in 2017 that ended after the assailant began threatening a female student. On another occasion, while walking to school with a friend, the girl was pursued, assaulted, and threatened with a knife. A passerby alerted authorities, but Roman managed to stab the girl in the neck and chest, and she was hospitalized. In 2020, he received a one-year sentence in a settlement colony, though he was released following time already served.
