Poll: US residents are pessimistic about the country’s future in 2023

Most US residents expect a difficult situation in the economy and domestic politics in 2023. This is evidenced by data from a survey conducted by a sociology company. gallup.

Nearly eight out of ten people surveyed said economic difficulties this year came with high taxes and a growing budget deficit. Six out of ten respondents believe that prices will rise sharply and the stock market will crash again. Also, half of US residents expect the unemployment rate to rise.

Talking about the situation within the country, the majority of respondents (90%) said that this year will be full of political strife. Also, 72% expect an increase in crime, while 56% expect more than one union strike.

In international politics, Americans also saw no reason for optimism. The majority (85%) believe that 2023 will be full of ethnic conflicts, with 64% predicting that the US influence on the world stage will decline. At the same time, 73% expect China’s influence to increase.

A recent survey by the Public Opinion Foundation showedLess than half (43%) of Russians believe that the next 2023 will be better for Russia than last year.
