According to the press service of the Moscow Municipal Economic Complex telegraph channel About the rescue of two owls from the Red Book after they were taken from street photographers in the center of the Russian capital.

“A long-eared and short-eared owl was recently rescued near house 9/2 on Maroseyka Street. The photographers did not have documents related to the birds,” it said.

It was noted that the long-eared owl belongs to the third rarity category in the Red Book as a vulnerable species in Moscow, and the swamp owl belongs to the “possibly extinct” species.

The Municipal Economic Complex also said that the birds are currently receiving the necessary assistance at the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Center of the Nature Management and Environmental Protection Department.
