Alberto Chicote visited various points in Alicante in various episodes. ‘Nightmare in the kitchen’ and the result after the Madrid chef spent time in the country did not always deliver the results the owners and chef would expect.

Moraira (Restaurant ‘Da Vinci’ / ‘New Da Vinci’)

His son, on the other hand, explained that the main problem with ‘Da Vinci’ was that there was no fair business among those responsible and his relationship with his father had been severed: “We were going great, but I did everything and my father was going to a party.”
Alcoy (Restaurant ‘La Hamburguesía’ / ‘La Broqueta’)
One of the programs most remembered with fights, screams and awkward situations was recorded in Alcoy, specifically the old ‘La Hamburguesía’, and the program was renamed ‘La Broqueta’. She had to endure humiliations and insults in her local Chicote (famous “Are you a jerk or what’s wrong?” from the owner’s husband to the famous chef). The recording got so tense that the show started rethinking whether to continue or lose it: they didn’t, but despite all the work it didn’t continue and ‘La Broqueta’ was also closed (recorded) pierced).
The interesting thing is that this transfer of this place took place before the broadcast of the program, as witnessed by the advertisements that the owner Clara and her husband put on the Internet: «Hello, we have a restaurant in Alcoy called La Broqueta that we would like to transfer, it will appear on the television show Pesadilla en la cocina de Alberto Chicote with all its contents in late February-early March. 3-zone room; Dining room for 45 people, children’s area for 25 people and interior terrace for 35 people. We were recently renovated by Alberto Chicote (photos can be viewed on Facebook), fully equipped refrigerators, freezers, gas cooker, deep fryer, 3 large TVs and 5 air conditioners, cafeteria, local rent 700 euros per month and 175 euros terrace ».
Benidorm (‘Harbour’)
Unpleasant scenes with “surprises” after opening the refrigerator and searching for utensils: Chicote had some pretty unpleasant experiences while driving through ‘El Puerto’ in Benidorm. Especially because of the cook whose rude and despotic demeanor didn’t help things move (or at least peacefully). Alberto Chicote believed that the best thing for the survival of the place was to find another professional in the area who would take care of the stoves, and that’s how it was: the place has remained open to this day.
Alicante (“Hot Beach” / “Golden Beach”)
The Gold Beach, located in Alicante, announced that it was shut down on social networks after the ‘Nightmare in the Kitchen’ experience in 2018. However, they did not notify three other restaurants with the same owners following the closure of the facility. On social networks, they announced that the best they could get from the program was “a magnificent and delicious cuisine.”
