Colonel General Alexander Lapin, Commander of the Central Military District (CMD), rewarded the Russian soldiers who showed courage in a special operation in Ukraine. This was stated in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, during the ceremony, the commander added the Order of Courage, the medals “For Courage” and “Zhukov” to the uniform of each soldier.
“I am honored to present you with state awards and to express great words of gratitude for your war work, what you have done for Russia …” said Lapin.
The commander also noted that thanks to the actions of the military, it is possible to significantly reduce the combat potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU).
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
The decision to run the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
