Renfe sets record with more than 163,000 passengers on the first day of Easter

Renfe signed up this Friday 163,576 passengers carried Nearly a thousand trains on Ave-Larga Distancia and Media Distancia services on the first day of operation after Easter record passenger within a day since the pandemic began.

According to the operator’s statement, 99,613 passengers were carried, especially on Ave and Larga Distancia, while 63,963 people traveled on Media Distancia.

The most requested routes were connecting routes. Andalusia, Valencian Community, Galicia and Catalonia and MadridAlthough high occupancy was also achieved in the Mediterranean Corridor and services connecting Catalonia to Andalusia.

Mobility comes to the fore in the routes connecting major capitals to the coast, from Barcelona to Costa Dorada and Costa Brava, in Media Distancia; from Seville to Cadiz and Huelva; or Valencia to Alicante and Costa Blanca, among others.

Passengers who prefer this means of transportation, blocked the circulation of about 110,000 cars and their corresponding greenhouse gas emissions as well as other polluting particles.

To respond to the mobility of people during Easter, Renfe is offering nearly two million seats on its Business Services and Medium Distance trains through Monday, April 18.

To do this, it has increased its current capacity with 79,569 extra seats on its trains to the most popular destinations on the Ave and Larga Distancia. Likewise, it offers 836,685 places in Avant and Media Distancia services.
