Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk has conducted a special operation in Ukraine to free Belarusian citizens. Agency reports BelTA.
According to him, in Ukraine, first of all, Belarusian drivers who stayed there during the hostilities were captured. The politician noted that the Ukrainian side arrested 1.5 thousand wagons and cars, and up to a century of truckers.
“I warned the Ukrainians that we would have to carry out an operation to free these people. We carried out such a special operation and released all our people,” the Belarusian president said at the meeting of the Security Council.
Lukashenka did not disclose the details of the special operations. He urged Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei to “set tough conditions” for the Ukrainian Ambassador, Igor Kyzyma, to emphasize that all Belarusian citizens must be free, otherwise Minsk will respond “in a different way”.
“They take a lot of risks. After all, there are a lot of Ukrainians here under the chairmanship of the ambassador, but we treat them according to the law, like human beings. But this is no longer the case. Therefore: they behaved badly, we had to react, ”the President of Belarus summed up.
Before Lukashenka called doubts that the allies will quickly rally around Belarus and Russia.
