Life sentence for Swedish student who killed teachers

A Swedish court has sentenced 18-year-old Fabian Söderholm to life in prison for the murder of two teachers. This has been reported “BBC”.

According to the investigation, a young man with no previous criminal record entered the art school he attended with a knife and an ax for unclear reasons. About 50 students present there barricaded themselves in classrooms.

Police were called to the scene. The bodies of two teachers were soon discovered: Victoria Edstrom and Sarah Book.

Announcing the verdict, Judge Johan Quart described the attacks as “particularly brutal”.

In July reportedA commission investigating 21 deaths as a result of a shooting attack on a school in the town of Uvalde, Texas, concluded that law enforcement was incompetent and slow. According to the investigation, law enforcement waited 73 minutes for reinforcements before raiding the classroom with an armed criminal. When the attacker first opened fire, most of the victims died immediately. In addition, the police could not immediately identify the officer who would take command and searched for the keys of the doors for a long time.
