The study “Foundations of the spiritual and moral culture of the peoples of Russia” is designed to develop the personalities of students, to familiarize students with Russian traditional spiritual and moral values, the rules and norms of behavior in society.
The Ministry of National Education noted that the new course will be the semantic continuation of the “Fundamentals of Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics” course. It is taught in the 4th grade. It includes six elective modules. These are the foundations of Orthodox culture, Islamic culture, Buddhist culture, Jewish culture, world religious cultures, or secular morality.
Since September 1 of this year, Russian schools introduced mandatory weekly flag hoisting ceremony.
