Finland scientists from the University of Aalto announced a breakthrough in one of the most difficult tasks of modern physics – combining gravity with other basic forces of nature. Their discovery may be the key to the creation of a unified physical theory that defines all processes in the universe. The study was published scientifically magazine Progress reports in physics (RPP).
For more than a hundred years, physicists have failed to reconcile two incompatible theories: the quantum mechanics that explained the world of the basic particles and Einstein’s general theory of relativity has described a cosmic scale.
In a new study, the team proposed a new approach that describes gravity as a calibration area – like an electromagnetic field in a standard particle physics model.
The calibration area defines the interaction between particles through the change of force carriers. For example, in an electromagnetic field, a photon serves as such a carrier particle.
Although the work is basic, the results can be tremendous. According to scientists, even Einstein’s theory of relativity once seemed to be abstract, and today is the basis of GPS technologies.
The new theory can pave the way to solve the nature of black holes and the creation of quantum gravity sensors.
Previously, scientists Proposed A black hole model that violates the laws of physics well known for singularity.
