The International team of scientists found that local food plants could be an important part of a comprehensive struggle against cancer due to the high content of biologically active compounds with anti -cancer characteristics of Nigeria. Published in İş Magazine Future Integrant Medicine (FIM).
Scientists examined a series of plants, including Spondias Mombin, Xanthosoma Sagitifolium, Elaeis Guineensis and others. These plants are rich in flavonoids, alkaloids and phenolic acids that can suppress tumor growth, activate the programmed death of cancer cells, stop the division of malignant cells and prevent the formation of new blood vessels necessary for the development of tumors. In addition, many of these compounds have a prominent antioxidant and anti -inflammatory effect, which is particularly important for preventing and slowing cancer progression.
The mechanisms of action of biologically active substances are varied. Separate plants such as oil seeds and African mangos showed the ability to regulate the body’s immune answers and influence metabolic paths associated with cancer.
Despite the promising results, researchers note the need for additional clinical studies. An important task for the future will be the preparation of plant extracts, the determination of optimal dosages and the standardization of the integration of traditional knowledge with modern scientific approaches.
According to business writers, food facilities from Nigeria may become a suitable and effective contribution to existing cancer treatment methods by paved new ways to create safer, natural therapeutic strategies in regions with limited access to high -tech medical care.
