The International Scientists Team from the University of Rutgers discovered one of the largest single buildings in the sky – a potentially shaped cloud found in just 300 light years from the ground. Published in İş Magazine Nature astronomy.
The new cloud, called “EOS” in honor of Dawn’s Greek goddess, is mainly the main building element of molecular hydrogen – stars and planets. The openness was the first condition in which the molecular cloud was detected by radiation in the distant ultraviolet range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Traditionally, molecular clouds are detected by signals of carbon monoxide (CO) molecules in Radydidiapasa or infrared light. However, the team led by Blakeseli Berkhart for the first time applied the method of searching the fluorescent of the distant ultraviolet molecular hydrogen. The cloud literally shines in the dark, which allowed him to find him where other methods were weak.

The EOS cloud is located on the edge of the local balloon called SO, a giant region of sparse gas surrounding our solar system. Interestingly, the hydrogen in EOS was founded after a large explosion, and traveled 13.6 billion years ago without a part of this cloud. The discovery was even a surprise for the researchers themselves: previously believed that molecular hydrogen could not be observed directly in a similar way.
