American scientists from the Walter Military Institute Reed and other science centers have done a great study to find out if the vaccine against Ebola can protect the existing vaccine against other dangerous Filoviruses. The study was published scientifically magazine Science Translation Medicine (STM).
Filoviruses, including malicious Ebola and Marburg, are among the most deadly pathogens. The outbreaks are accompanied by mortality rate indicators up to 88%and there is still little effective treatment. Only existing two vaccines have been developed against the Ebola virus, which has left a security vulnerability to other members of this dangerous family.
Scientists have tested the Jansen Ebola vaccine for two people from six countries on 583 volunteers. The drug showed high efficiency against Ebola, but it was almost useless to relevant viruses, including Sudan, Bundibugios and Marburg. Similar results showed the blood tests of Bundibugios, which were detonated by Ebovirus.
The leading author of the study. Tembi Mdluli clearly shows that a new vaccine needs full protection against Filovirus, “Tembi Mdluli said.
Scientists say that the development of such a drug is complex with their ability to overcome obstacles of these viruses.
Despite the disappointment results, the study has made it possible to better understand the mechanisms of the immune response to the philovelus, and the guidance instructions to create a universal vaccine.
Previously, scientists Healed Monkeys from Ebola’s Covid-19 fire tablets.
