A group of scientists from the University of Southern Australia have identified four home lover of indoor plants. The study was published at the following address Portal Speech.
The team interviewed 115 Australian plants in homes.
The results were even surprised by the researchers themselves: each seventh (14%) called participating plants as “children” or “family members .. Almost half (42%) of the participants actively looked at plants and experienced the joy of their growth. Approximately one quarter (23%) granted a limited interest to green pets, and 12% did not feel the connection with the room flora.
In addition to emotional commitment, the participants called 11 reasons to keep plants at home, the most popular of them was aesthetics, improved air quality, reduced stress and developed healthy habits.
The most popular species of indoor plants turned out to be juicy fruits, monsters and “evil ivy” (epipremum).
Scientists say there are data collected in 2020, many of which were alone. Now the team is planning a new work to see if such a strong emotional connection is protected in the spinish period.
