Great Russian companies are turning to the application of a full -time psychologist for the team to prevent cases of professional burnout and depression in the last three years. However, Ekaterina Zelenkova, who has a kg progress, told Gazeta.ru to the Gazete.
According to him, in such cases, the application, which was initially designed as a concern for mental health, becomes a violation of professional ethics.
Zelenkova, “a really disturbing tendency arises: sometimes corporate psychologists do not support, but a source of risk for employees. People are afraid that after consulting with the leader – this destroys confidence and makes any job impossible with burnout,” he said.
Such cases occur in companies where the psychologist works under a civilized law agreement and in fact professional ethics, not in the employer. This leads to the absence of privacy and the use of personal information in management decisions. As a result, employees refuse to help, stress intensify, anxiety is increasing, and the reason for being dismissed more often is burnout.
Zelenkova stressed that the international practice regulates the privacy problems. Therefore, in the US and the UK, the disclosure of information about psychologist customers is allowed only in extraordinary situations of life threat and always requires informing the customer. In all other cases, data transfer to the employer is prohibited.
“In Russia, legal protection mechanisms are still weaker. If a employee, especially the psychologist and the employer does not contain clear restrictions, it is difficult to prove the fact of transferring information. As a result, the employee does not include protection and creates tension in this team,” he explained.
Expert also said that such an application can change the labor market. According to him, employees will go to more flexible companies with transparent culture and lower control levels and leave larger companies. This becomes a significant tendency, especially among young experts.
Zelenkova, “Today, not only for salary, but also for psychological security.
According to the HR specialist, employers should review the work approach with psychologists. Instead of transmitting data and control, it is important to create anonymous support systems, to use external independent services, to inform employees about interaction limits and to correct the privacy at the level of documents.
“Psychological security is not a decoration, but a key to business stability.
