European Nuclear Research Organization (CERN) scientists presented a Future Ring Collid (BKK) project, the successor of the Big Adon Collid (BAC). The new particle accelerator will have a 91 km long (almost 3.5 times the tank) and will be able to perform experiments that will help to reveal the riddles of basic physics. This was reported by information agency Associated Press (AP).
For the future complex, the tunnel will be laid at a depth of 200 meters below the Franco-Swiss border. The diameter of the passage of the five meters will allow you to place stronger magnets and detectors compared to the tank (the tunnel diameter is 3.8 meters).
The project cost is estimated to be $ 16 billion. The final financing decision will be made in 2028. If the initiative is decided, the construction will start in the 2030s and the first experiments are planned to be planned for 2045.
According to experts, the BKK will examine the characteristics of the Higgs Bozon more accurately, find keys to solve the dark matter and energy, and will conduct other surveys other than the standard physics model. The standard model defines the basic components and interactions of the substance, but it does not take into account gravity, black holes, expansion of the universe and other aspects.
“This collision can be the most powerful tool of humanity to examine the laws of nature, Cer said Cern Fabiola Dzhanotti, General Manager Cern Fabiola Dzhanotti.
Previously in the Great Adon Collision discovered New antiparticles.
