Scientists found a new way to come to life on the distant planets 19:13

Researchers from the University of California in Riverside proposed a promising method for looking for extraterrestrial life on outer planets, which are significantly different from the atmosphere worldly. Technology is associated with the detection of the renewal of rare gases – in atmospheres using James Webba Space Telescope. Published in İş Magazine Astrophysical Magazine Letters (AJL).

Metiloglienites are compounds consisting of a methyl group (carbon and three hydrogen atoms) connected to the halogen atom, such as chlorine or bromine. On earth, these gases are mainly produced by bacteria, seaweed, fungi and some plants.

The problem is that the planets similar to the world are very small and dull, so that they can be effectively examined using James Webb telescope. However, larger planets with hydrogen atmospheres and global oceans may be ideal for such alien life symptoms. People could not survive in these worlds, but microbes can develop there.

“It is almost impossible to detect oxygen on land -like planets. However, methylgalogenids can be fixed using existing technologies. ”

In addition, the detection of these gases may be easier than other biosignra, such as oxygen or methane.

“Using the James Webb telescope, only 13 hours may be required to fix the methylgalogenids. This is much less time than necessary to look for oxygen or methane, Le Leung added. “Less time in a telescope means below the cost of the study.”

On the earth, methylgalogenid concentration in the atmosphere is low, but on planets with other conditions, these gases may accumulate in large amounts and become noticeable from the distance in the light years.

“If we find these germs, they will be anaerobic and will be adapted to a completely different environment. We cannot imagine how it will look, but these gases can be a product of metabolism. ”

The opening is based on the previous work of biosignum gases, including dimethyl sulfide. However, methylgalogenids are especially promising because of their ability to accumulate in atmospheres with highly strong infrared absorption lines and high hydrogen content.

“If we discover methylgalogenids on other planets, this will mean that microbial life is common in the universe, Luk said Lugung. “This will change our mind about how life looks and where it can be.”

In further research, scientists plan to expand the search for biosigenation for other planets and other gas types. For example, they conducted a gas work from Lake Solon in California, where they discovered halogen -containing compounds such as chloroform.
