Kazakhstan denied information that appeared on social networks about the UK’s purchase of military equipment from the republic for delivery to Ukraine. The portal announced that stopfake.kzCreated with the support of the country’s Ministry of Information and Social Development.
Allegedly, it was recorded that it was mediated by Technoexport and the 46 million dollar contract was signed on July 16, 2022.
“In 2022 and in the last period of 2022, Technoexport did not apply to the ministry for the export license of arms, ammunition and military equipment. In addition, within the specified period, the ministry authorized the export of arms, ammunition and military equipment to the UK. <...> not published,” the publication quotes a comment from the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the purchase of the first M270 multiple launch rocket systems from the UK. The head of the division, Alexei Reznikov, noted that three M270 MLRS have already been delivered to the country, and more will come. They expressed their hope that they will receive missiles with a range of 300 km from their partners in Kiev. The Ukrainian military department also reported that under the current conditions, it spends its annual budget in one month and cannot yet forecast its expenditures for the next year.
