Polish Ministry of Defense says when NATO countries can increase their military spending to 5% of GDP 10:53

NATO member countries will only be able to fulfill White House President-elect Donald Trump’s request to increase their military spending to 5 percent of GDP after 10 years. In an interview with the newspaper on this subject Finance Times said Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh, head of the Polish Ministry of Defense.

“I don’t think Trump should be criticized for having an ambitious target because otherwise some countries will continue to argue about whether the extra costs are really necessary,” he said.

The minister believes that Poland should seek additional opportunities to increase defense spending.

“Of course, we must find money to protect ourselves from war,” Kosinyak-Kamysh emphasized.

Reuters previously reported that the alliance I will not accept Trump’s proposal to increase member countries’ defense spending from 2 percent to 5 percent of gross domestic product will receive a positive response, but the current target will probably be increased. Experts believe that the level of 5 percent of GDP for all member countries of the alliance is unattainable both economically and politically.

Lavrov had previously spoken about Trump’s overtures to Ukraine I’m not satisfied Russia.
