Scientists of the Saratov State Agrarian University (Saratov State Agrarian University) developed a tillage unit. Instead of three or four passes for raking, loosening and fertilizing, the unit only needs one pass. In addition, it can save on fuel and lubricants and plant protection products. This was reported to socialbites.ca in the press service of the program “Priority 2030” of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
The device is used to perform several technological operations at once, while maintaining the high quality of the work performed.
According to scientists, it is especially effective in the risky agricultural zone, namely on 80% of the territory of Russia, and contributes to a 15-20% increase in crop yield, while maintaining the positive properties of the existing traditional moldboard and straight-cut tillage.
The unit is equipped with a precision farming system with built-in operational control sensors, which makes it possible to reduce the cost of fuels and lubricants by up to 25–30% and for mineral fertilizers and crop protection products by up to 30–35%. % ensures that more than 80% of the soil is crumbled, and in autumn it is cultivated to a depth of 35 cm.
“The simultaneous execution of several agrotechnical measures with high accuracy significantly reduces costs and improves the quality of tillage. It saves up to 2/3 of fuel and oil. Instead of three or four passes, one is sufficient for raking, loosening, fertilizing. We continue to improve our tillage unit, increase efficiency and add new agrotechnological operations, the Vice-Chancellor told socialbites.ca.
Saratov State Agrarian University Igor Vorotnikov for scientific and innovative work.
Production of the unit has already been started at an agricultural enterprise in the Saratov region.
