Rain in South Korea seven dead, six missing

At least there are seven people dead and six missing due to flooding caused by the heaviest rains to hit Seoul in 80 yearsAs reported by local authorities on Tuesday.

Parts of the South Korean capital, as well as the port city of Incheon and Gyeonggi province, recorded heavy rains of more than 100 millimeters (mm) for several consecutive hours early Tuesday, Yonhap news agency reported. In the Dongjak district of Seoul, precipitation even exceeded 140 millimeters (mm) in an hour. The largest downpour recorded in 60 minutes since 1942.

According to the agency in question, heavy rains caused flooding in homes, vehicles, buildings and subway stations as well as victims. Five dead and four missing in Seller Seoul, while two people were killed and two missing in the rest of Gyeonggi province.
