Russian scientists are conducting clinical trials of three drugs targeted against oncology; these could be completed by the end of 2025. This was announced by Marina Sekacheva, director of the Institute of Personalized Oncology at Sechenov University. TASS.

“We have ongoing studies on three more targeted drugs that target tumor cells in stomach cancer, squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, and breast cancer,” he said.

According to Sekacheva, scientists have already completed a clinical trial of a biosimilar similar to the foreign immuno-oncology drug Keytruda for the treatment of metastatic melanoma. The drug was licensed and put into use.

Previously, doctors from Sechenov University developed A new approach based on genetic material in the treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Based on genetic analysis, doctors were able to determine the type of tumor. This made it possible to offer patients personalized therapy, which tripled the effectiveness of the treatment.
