06:00 The names of the 5 professions that will be laid off in 2025 have been announced

In 2025, the Russian labor market will continue to change under the influence of economic instability, digitalization and a decrease in operating costs. This will lead to increased job competition and possible waves of layoffs. Ekaterina Zelenkova, HR business partner of PROGRESS KG, told socialbites.ca about professions at risk.

The first are call center operators and office managers.

“The introduction of automation and chatbots continues to distract employees from customer service. Companies are increasingly opting for digital solutions such as voice assistants and online chat platforms. “As the business world shifts to remote working and digital management tools, the demand for office managers is also decreasing,” he explained.

The second is transportation logistics.

“The development of supply chain management algorithms and automated planning systems is reducing the need for traditional logistics experts. The expert stated that today large companies are actively implementing software solutions that will minimize the human factor.

The third profession is sales managers for mass goods.

“Modern consumer habits are changing. The growth of online sales through marketplaces and the automation of purchasing processes are slowly replacing sales professionals. “Previously, personal contacts and meetings played an important role, today this is being replaced by digital algorithms that select the best offers,” he emphasized.

Fourth – middle management personnel.

“Crisis conditions and cost savings are forcing companies to rethink their expenses and get rid of unnecessary management layers. This is especially true for middle management staff who often become unemployed in companies where flexible and horizontal structures are implemented. There is increasing emphasis on team mobility and autonomy, reducing the need for large numbers of middle managers. Companies are simplifying structures by giving more responsibilities to line managers or distributing responsibility across teams,” explained the expert.

Fifth – employees of print publications and traditional media.

“Reducing advertising budgets and moving ads online continues to push media organizations to cut staff. This trend may accelerate in 2025 due to changes in consumer habits and increased competition from digital platforms. Thus, companies are trying to optimize processes by reducing costs. The main tools are automation, digitalization and abandonment of traditional working models. The expert noted that cost savings remain a priority, especially in times of crisis.
