Flights to Blagoveshchensk were diverted to an alternative airport due to weather conditions in the city. This was reported by RIA Novosti With reference to the Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities of the Amur Region.
Only three planes from Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok failed to land in Blagoveshchensk; these were sent to Khabarovsk.
It is known that all flights from Blagoveshchensk to Khabarovsk are delayed.
The cause of the incident was the snowfall that had been going on for about two days in the city. On Wednesday night, experts recorded 13 millimeters of rainfall.
The weather affected the situation in the city. Heavy rain caused transportation to collapse and educational institutions switched to distance education format.
Rescue teams are working in the area to help residents free their cars from snowdrifts.
An emergency plane flying from Moscow earlier sat down in Baku.
