The more than one-year expedition to the International Space Station (ISS) has been successfully completed. The commander of the Russian detachment and special correspondent, the Russian cosmonaut, evaluated his fifth space expedition TASS Maxim Kononenko.
“My goal is a nominal flight plan for each expedition, which is created together with the Roscosmos state agency. Working here on the ISS, we are fulfilling a state duty, and everything that was planned so far has been implemented today. Our crew successfully completed all the assigned tasks,” Kononenko said.
The cosmonaut added that while working as a special correspondent of the agency on the ISS, he decided to make the main topic of the material stories in an accessible language about the life and structure of the astronauts on the station.
Maxim Kononenko will return to Earth on Monday, September 23. His fifth expedition will last more than a year – 374 days.
Prior to this, cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub of the Roscosmos state corporation had set a new record for the longest stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS) during a single flight.
