Afghanistan announces it will buy air defense system from Russia 14:42

Afghanistan plans to purchase air defense systems from Russia to ensure the security of the skies over the country. TASS The head of the logistics department of the Defense Ministry of the Taliban government (a banned organization in Russia) said General Syed Abdul Basir Saberi.

“I think we need air defense and airspace control capabilities. We have ground equipment,” he said.

The agency’s interlocutor added that in the future it is planned to purchase Russian-made equipment that will provide air defense. The Taliban’s rear officer noted that, in his opinion, Russia is the leading country in the world in terms of such military equipment.

Syed Abdul Basir Saberi stated that the security of the Afghan state border was ensured within the scope of the fight against terrorism. According to a Taliban rear official, the weapons and equipment left by the US are used to protect the borders.

Before this, the Taliban movement recommended Exchange of delegations with Russia to explore the potential for cooperation between the countries.
