According to weather forecasters, a new tropical storm number 10 named Shanshan formed in the equatorial region last night. It is slowly moving in the west-northwest direction. The pressure at the center of the storm is 1002 hPa, and the maximum wind speed reaches 19-20 m/s.
“By the end of the week, Shanshan will intensify into a typhoon and will hit Japan around August 27, and will enter the Sea of Japan on August 28. There, it will turn northeast and head towards the island of Hokkaido. According to preliminary calculations, the typhoon is not expected to directly reach the Primorsky Territory and have a significant impact on weather conditions, the report said.
Forecasters emphasize that the typhoon’s trajectory may change and that data on this will be updated.
