In Russia, it is necessary to ban the purchase of “adult” goods (for example, alcohol or cigarettes) using children’s bank cards. St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Deputy Pavel Krupnik sent such a proposal to the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov, transmits RT with a link to a copy of the document.
The MP recalled that in Russia today, children are given bank cards, which allow parents to track their children’s purchases and control their spending. However, Krupnik said that there is a possibility that young people will use these cards to buy cigarettes, alcohol or other adult products. He cited cases where stores sell prohibited products to children using such cards.
The MP called for the regime for using children’s bank cards to be modernised, making it impossible to buy certain goods with these cards.
“The emergence of ‘plastic’ should point to the minority who carries it,” Krupnik emphasized.
