Scientists at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) have developed a program based on artificial intelligence (AI) designed to relieve doctors of some paperwork, the press service of the scientific institution told socialbites.ca.
“According to statistics, a doctor spends 40% of the time he meets with a patient on reporting: filling out documents, writing instructions, etc., which negatively affects the quality of medical services provided.
The doctor’s attention is not focused on the patient, appointments are delayed, queues are formed. We want to change the rules of the game where doctors now have to perform medical examinations and consultations, so that specialists do not get away from their patients. MIPT stated that algorithms will keep medical records.
According to the researchers, the AI assistant recognizes the doctor’s voice in real time, records the appointment and fills out medical documents: the patient’s personal card, referrals to specialized specialists, prescriptions for medicines and sick leave certificates. As a result, the doctor’s work is accelerated and allows him to see 20% more people per shift.
MIPT stressed that information regarding medical confidentiality regarding clients will be stored and processed in individual healthcare institutions, which will protect confidential data regarding the health of citizens.
It’s happened before known On the development of a voice artificial intelligence simulator for medical students in Russia.
