American and Irish scientists have released a video showing the aftermath of a collision between a seven-meter giant shark and a ship. The publication reports IFLScience.
According to researchers, this is the first time in history that such an event has been captured on camera. Sharks swam to the coast of Ireland. Scientists wanted to study the behavior of fish. One of them is equipped with a video camera that works for several hours and then automatically detaches and surfaces.
From the resulting video, researchers learned that the shark fed in shallow coastal waters for about six hours before attempting a rapid maneuver to escape the approaching ship. However, the ship’s keel still struck the shark, striking it below its dorsal fin.
After the incident, the fish immediately swam away from the shore and into the depths. In the remaining 7.5 hours of video, the shark stays away from the surface and periodically lies down to rest. Scientists do not know whether it returned to shallow water.
A man in early Primorye to create a shark on the beach threw him into the sea and swam away.
