Spain has promised to transfer to Ukraine the American-made Hawk anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) to combat aircraft of the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported by TASS Referring to a press release from the Spanish Ministry of Defense.
It was reported that the head of the department, Margarita Robles, met with her Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov and announced the transfer of the Hawk air defense system battery to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
Robles also stressed that “significant progress has been made in the training of Ukrainian military personnel” and noted that five thousand Ukrainian soldiers are already being trained in Spain.
Before that, Vladimir Zelensky statedHe said that Germany had supplied Ukraine with the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM).
Zelensky also hinted that Kiev wants to buy more air defense systems. According to him, “there is still a lot of work ahead” and “there is no guaranteed protection for it yet” from the actions of Russian aviation.
Zelensky earlier praised Russian Army.
