Deputies of the State Duma adopted in the second and third readings a bill simplifying the process of transferring confiscated and unclaimed weapons to the zone of special military operations (SVO). reported in the press service of the lower house of parliament.
“We are talking about enabling the reuse of weapons and ammunition destroyed by Russian National Guard units,” the message reads.
The bill amends the law “On the National Guard of the Russian Federation.” The authors of the initiative were MPs Alexander Khinshtein and Vasily Piskarev.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Security and Combating Corruption Anatoly Vyborny noted that the document will allow the transfer of firearms loaded with bullets to the needs of the army. According to him, “they are the most effective in damaging and destroying UAVs.”
Before that the State Duma voted Amendments will be made regarding the ability of unit commanders, police chiefs or garrison commanders to impose disciplinary punishment on military personnel serving in the military. Amendments will be made to the “Law on the Status of Military Personnel”.
