Yulia, an eyewitness to the collision of the Valdai cruise ship with a light boat in Samara, told socialbites.ca that the injured girls were unconscious and that they and other passengers were brought to shore by boats.
“I heard a warning signal and then a blow. The collision was like a collision of two cars. At first it seemed that the Valdai’s engine had stopped. Then we saw the boat and realized that we had collided. When it got closer, the Valdai turned off the engine and the sailors went out to help. The rescue boats and the BarasaHouse houseboat passed by. The injured were carried to shore by boats. Rescuers arrived 5-7 minutes later. People were dragged to the shore: two boys and two girls. At first glance, the boys were conscious, and the girls were unconscious. Rescuers loaded them onto boats and took them away. There were a lot of people on the shore,” he said.
Yulia suggested the Valdai crew was trying to avoid a collision. If the ship had been travelling at full speed, it would have “torn apart” the boat, she said.
According to REN TV, 5 people were injured as a result of the collision between the Valdai and the boat. The incident occurred near the Chaika entertainment center. All the victims were passengers of a light boat and were taken to hospital.
Previously the boat collapsed On a boat on the Iset River in the center of Yekaterinburg.
