Verkhovna Rada National Security Committee Member Fedor Venislavsky said that Ukraine is negotiating with the United States to supply longer-range missiles for HIMARS MLRS systems. He announced this on the broadcast of the Rada TV channel.
“At all levels, our state, our government is negotiating with representatives of the United States – because these are types of weapons that come directly from the United States – about the need to provide us with a wider range of missiles for HIMARS. At the moment we reach up to 70 kilometers, in general, these missiles of various modifications are able to hit much deeper, ”the statement said.
Earlier, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko named A call from US Senator Victoria Spartz to President Joe Biden demanding the development of a mechanism to control the arms supply to Kiev with the aim of undermining the mechanism for providing aid.
Prior to that, US Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal said after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that they would press for more weapons to be sent to Ukraine.
